Request to Gear App Challenge Team

Hi,

I have request to Samsung Gear App Challenge Team. Currently only certified app is eligible for the challenge
we are facing these problems

1. Samsung take about 8 day to certification. that is a long time consider to the other store.

2. We don't have device for testing we are using Samsung Remote Test Lab.
In that remote test lab i can access only Galaxy s5 and Note other device is not responding in my side.

3. Now i am using Samsung Virtual Lab. My Application is working perfectly in that devices but testing give some error. In my testing virtual lab device not showing any error.

i spent about 1 and half month for developing these application. but current situation is i can't participate these challenge do to this Certification Problem. If you people remove this condition lot of people can participate this challenge. after 1 st round winner can buy devices they can improve app.

Please consider this as request for all Participant.

    you should buy Gear 2. If you are serious developer you should know that testing app in RTL is nothing like real device and there is more problems than gains.

    @aneesh_167 - have you posted about the error somewhere? Hopefully someone can help you debug the issue. The best you may be able to do is get an update submitted by Monday and hope that Samsung lets QA know to make a push to get through testing as many Gear applications as possible by August 7th.

    I Checked in Virtual Lab its working. I think that problem of way of testing because they give two error

    1. Place suggestion taking too much time. but its happening only in the case when internet is too slow. In my side its working properly

    2. load not showing but in my side its working fine.

    @aneesh_167 - you will likely need to provide more details for people to help. For example, explaining what you are doing in code or sharing that code segment. "load not showing" doesn't mean much to others who don't know what that is referring to.

    The Place Suggestion timing... someone else who uses internet connectivity can likely comment on what testing might be looking for as a solution. My best guess on how to solve it: have the user type the place and click a "search" button. Then show a loading icon until the places are retrieved. Then they select from the list once it is retrieved (rather than it always attempting to update as they write in real time when it can't keep up due to slow connection).

    Thank you for your question. I'm very sorry that you're having trouble. Per the official rules:

    “For the first round, Entries must be registered on the Samsung Seller Office website (seller.samsungapps.com) by the submission deadline on July 17, 2014 and must be certified by August 7, 2014. Only Entries certified before or during the Samsung GALAXY Apps Certification Period will be eligible for the challenge.”

    In fairness to the other contestants, this requirement is firm. So, unfortunately, we will not be able to lift the requirement of passing certification on Samsung GALAXY Apps. We do appreciate all of the hard work you put into your app so far and wish you the best of luck as you continue through the Certification Period.

    @Serena101- ok serena i understood. but lot of participant are facing same problem.
    the main problem is the way of testing. in my case one error do to the internet related error. I informed in informed the samsung but problem is no response from that store.

    Hi @Serena101, @aneesh_167 is right, the times for certification for a contest are really too long... I resubmitted my app with only minor fixes and it took 7 days... I am resubmitting it again now, and I feel that it is unfair to us developers to be cut off from the contest only because our app did not get tested in time...

    I fell the same thing. now Samsung take a long time for certification. Another this is samsung curstmer support not responding to our questions.

    I think that the more complex app you build less chances you have :) This is what I have noticed in this contest. Friend of mine has build easy app and has no problem with certification. I have build app a little more complex and testers are finding really things which are not important at this stage of the contest.

    Hi @Serena101, @aneesh_167 and @mcs2k8 are right, the times for certification for a contest are really too long... and UNPREDICTABLE. I also resubmitted twice my app with only minor fixes and it took 7+7 days (with Application Screening Report)... only to know today, that info about my application is DISAPPEARED without any comments from "My Application" section. What I need to do now: resubmit it again now (with the risk of the same failure), and I also feel that it is unfair to us developers to be cut off from the contest only because our app did not get tested in time... by unknown reasons caused somewhere in Samsung Seller Office. Maybe they know more and correct me?

    Hi @Serena101,

    The Samsung certification taking more time and they are giving invalid error.
    I sent mail to summing regarding this message but they are not responding.
    In my side its working if you people want i will upload running video of my app.
    please any thing fast other wise our work will be waste.

    Hi Everyone,

    Thank you for your messages! I’m very sorry, but I am not able to influence the Certification process or decisions around app certification or rejection. If your app has been rejected during Certification, I would encourage you fix any necessary errors and resubmit as soon as possible.

    As noted in the update (http://gearapp.challengepost.com/updates/1832): “Certification review may take one week or more. It is highly recommended that any bug fixes or updates be resubmitted for Certification as early as possible. Samsung does not guarantee that additional updates will be reviewed by August 7th.”

    Please know, however, that the Certification team is working very hard to review as quickly as possible.
