Need to change or update Content ID of submission due to Samsung unable to fix platform change bug at seller office

Hi,

I need to change or update Content ID of submission due to Samsung unable to fix platform change bug at seller office.

I have post several support ticket regarding this bug but Samsung cannot fix this bug right now, It require more time to fix. So, I am not able to submit the update of Integrated Gear App to seller office. The possible work around can be 'submit the app to a new content ID'. Thus I require to change or update my Content ID of the app which I have been submitted into the challenge.

I am suffering the same issue. I have been in contact with ChallengePost, who has contacted Samsung about this issue. But I was not given permission to update the content ID in the ChallengePost website - the only feedback was that I was "not disqualified".

So, I am unable to know I am still in the competition. I suspect that my wrong content ID means that when my app is evaluated, it will be removed from the competition as the app of the original content ID is gone.

It would be really bad if apps are lost due to these issues with Samsungs developer portal - I would appreciate if Samsung could be more clear on this subject and preferably allow us to update content IDs

    thanks,
    Peter

    Hi,

I had a similar issue . My app "type" was changed by the appstore. I submitted a ticket about 2.5 weeks ago, it got resolved today and samsung changed my app status back to standalone app. Hoping that you get your ticket response soon .

Samsung Customer Support reply regarding this issue is given below
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting us. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

Regarding your inquiry, we would like to inform you that regarding Gear Platform issue, the problem was caused when you accessed to the registration page by entering URL directly from the web browser. The same problem was not found from those who accessed to the registration page using the UI of Seller Office. This is because the Gear Platform information was not saved when you accessed by entering URL directly. The department in charge will update the seller office on Aug. 13 to prevent the same error from happening.

Thus, we would like to recommend you to delete and register the application again.

We apologize for the inconvenience in using our service and your generous understanding is much appreciated.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
For more information about using Seller Office, you can also check out Frequently Asked Questions and Seller Office guide, which can be found in Seller Office as below.

Here Samsung clearly states that they will update their system on Aug. 13. So until that we cannot upload the gear binary on previous content ID. we need to create new content id to submit the updated apk file. otherwise we will miss the challenge due to seller office certification issue.

    Hi,

I am requesting to the challenge committee to comment on this issue.

From the other side it is your own fault, if you "accessed the registration page by entering URL directly from the web browser." It is like you made SQL injection via address bar and then complained that your account has been deleted.

    Dear kmbriedis,

Thanks for your observation. Samsung knows better how it happened. I did not press save button that's my fault as per Samsung Support because it is not required to change/save description or category etc at 'App information' Tab to update or change binary file.

Some other developer also face this kind of problem too. So, do not think every one like you.
You can also comment on http://gearapp.challengepost.com/forum_topics/3398-app-registration-platform-has-been-changed-into-galaxy-app-platform-from-gear-app-due-to-click-re-register-the-app-from-rejection-message

I have just request the challenge committee to comment on this issue whether is it possible or not.

    Thanks.

    Hello Everyone,

Thank you for your questions! Please note today's update to registrants (http://gearapp.challengepost.com/updates/1893-important-certification-process-content-id-updates), which states:

Due to an issue in the Seller Office system, some developers are having trouble updating Gear Apps in the Samsung GALAXY Apps Seller Office using the original Content IDs included in challenge entries.

If you're experiencing this problem, please resubmit your Gear App to the Samsung GALAXY Apps Seller Office using a new Content ID.

Note: you MUST use the same Seller ID and App Name listed in your challenge entry in order to remain eligible for the competition. Your Seller ID and App Name will be used to connect your challenge entry with your Samsung GALAXY Apps Seller Office entry. You do not need to resubmit your new Content ID to ChallengePost.

    Thank you!

@kmbreidis, I definitely do understand your angle. I had this issue too, and I assure you that I had no malicious intent. It just happend to one of my 5 apps. And I have no idea how to reproduce it. I was lucky because I submitted quite early (1st week of july) and walked through the issue with samsung. Just thought I should share that with you ..

In the mean time, if you would like to share your experience , please take 5 minutes to response to this survey regarding the contest ..

    Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry for the delay. We've just sent out an update with corrected information and instructions (http://gearapp.challengepost.com/updates/1899).

This update gives instructions for dealing with the error message, "The binary is invalid. You can register a Gear binary after selecting the gear platform." It also addresses what to do if your Content ID has changed since the submission period deadline.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

    Best,
    Serena
