Certification dates

I have been working hard for the last couple of weeks to be on time for the gear app challenge. Finally, I managed to submit my application to the Samsung galaxy apps seller office before the 17th of July. The result of the first certification came on the 23rd of July. The certification failed (for weird and unexplained reasons as many report here, but that's not the point now). Immediately, I corrected the issues and resubmitted the app the same day. As many report here the certification these days takes too much time. So what happens if the certification is not completed till the end of July, for reasons not related to my submission time?
In my opinion, all the applications that are still under certification by the end of July, should be eligible for the challenge in case they pass the certification, even after the end of July.
What do you think?

I totally understand your point. I have the same case with one of my apps.

I think instead of extending the time ... there should be some people dedicated to test apps quickly and answer any problems if they occur on Samsung side. I have tested my application on 4 different devices and if it fails now I will be also out of the game.

But if we would be able to get information that something is wrong quickly, we would be able also to fix it quickly. I was waiting 7 days for certification result saying my app can't be install on some of the devices. It could be stated just after one day ... what is the reason to wait 7 days for such information ?

Anyway I'm glad Samsung is making so big effort to organise this contest. This is only my thought that certification process could be better managed at least for this short period, because of these deadlines.

Same case with me. I entered 2 apps in the competition on the very last day. I have got the certification rejection of 1 app just now and other one is still under test. I believe they should either pace up the testing process or increase the certification deadline.
Because since first test took 9 days to complete its really doubtful that apps will get certify in time if i correct it and resubmit it again.

Please challangepost moderators get the certification deadline changed to help participants. If they create a competition of this size they should have fasten the testing process or given ample time so that users can resubmit atleast once in the certifiction period and get that resubmission certified else whats the point of having extra time for cetification if no chance is there to improve the errors.

They created this competition to get good number of quality apps in their appstore well they got it , competition was quite good with lots of submissions. Please don't let the efforts of last date submitters go to waste just over strict deadline rules it is an open competition not a millitary trial. That way both participants and organizers will be happy.

    hoping for a positive reply
    Best Regards
    Nick

Exactly. I also believe that this would be better for Samsung to either increase the speed of the certification or extend it at least 1 week. Otherwise some people will probably abandon development of their app and there will be less good apps on the market.

Anyway as always thanks for the organisers to have possibility in taking part in this contest.

    Hi dilipwk,

Thank you for your message! Per today’s update to registrants (http://gearapp.challengepost.com/updates/1877-round-1-certification-period-extended) the certification period has been extended to August 7th, 2014.

    Best,
