Gear Apps Store
I would like to see some already available gear apps. Where can I find those? Is there any way to filter out gear apps from the Samsung apps store?

Great question there ... from what I know, you can view the apps available for gear through the Gear Manager app running on your samsung device.

Hi tnw7,
Thanks for the question. vykthur is correct.
Yes, the only way to access is by downloading Gear App Manager and entering the store (http://apps.samsung.com/earth/topApps/topAppsDetail.as?productId=000000651788).
The Gear App Manager can be downloaded when there is a Gear connected to the host device (a smartphone).
Best,
Serena

Hi Serena:
I'm wanting to test gear apps on the Gear simulator (not real Gear device) , but you wrote:

Can I use a Samsung smartphone connected to Gear simulator to download gear apps and test them? Or is it required to have an actual gear device for this?

Hi mramosr85,
Thanks for your question - it's a good one. Can you please post your question on the Samsung Developer Forum (http://developer.samsung.com/forum). It's closely monitored and they'll be able to better assist you on questions related to using the Gear simulator.
All the best,
Serena

Hi Mramosr85,
Yes, you CAN use a samsung smartphone connected to a Gear Simulator to download gear apps and test them. This is required IF you have an app that needs a connection to a phone (Integrated or Linked apps) . You can also develop STANDALONE apps that run only on the gear 2 watch - for this, an actual device is not required, but good for testing.
There's a decent article that discusses how to get started, the different types of apps (INTEGRATED, LINKED, STANDALONE), supported devices, requirements, and how to test ...
Should help you get a clearer understanding how the whole gear app development works ...

Also, as Serena mentioned, do drop by the samsung developer forum, many helpful developers there.
Hope this helps.
