Standalone Gear App

What language was used for standalone Gear development?
Is there a simulator to test and develop a Standalone Gear app?
Shall we need to purchase a Gear 2 to develop an app?
Does SDK & API support swipe gestures?

  Thanks for your questions!

  Gear apps use the Tizen SDK for Wearable (https://developer.tizen.org/downloads/tizen-sdk?langswitch=en#wearable).

  You do not need to purchase a Gear 2 in order to develop an Gear App. You can test your app using the Emulator provided on the Gear App Developer page (http://developer.samsung.com/samsung-gear).

  To find out what UI gestures are supported, please take a look at the Samsung Gear Application UI Design Guideline documentation (http://img-developer.samsung.com/contents/cmm/SamsungGearApplication_UIDesignGuideline_1.0.pdf).
