Requirements - Existing Apps

Hi,

We have an Android App published on Samsung Apps since August 2013. We are now planning to upgrade it and add a Gear 2 interaction.

Can this app be considered to the contest, despite the first version of the Android App has been published before 2014/05/01. According to the rules:

"Existing Apps: Existing apps may be entered, as long as the submitted application was not funded or compensated, partially or fully, by Samsung for its development AND as long as the application was not distributed on Samsung Apps before May 1, 2014."

    Hi vbatista,

    Thanks for your question and your interest in the Samsung Gear App Challenge!

    The rule that you're referring to regarding existing apps is talking specifically about existing Gear Apps. If you're creating a new Gear App (not currently on Samsung Apps) to work with an existing Android app (currently on Samsung Apps) that is fine.

    The requirement is that the Gear App cannot have been "funded or compensated, partially or fully, by Samsung for its development" or distributed on Samsung Apps before May 1, 2014.
