Supported Devices for Gear 2

I am planning to create application for the app challenge. I have two mobile devices - Samsung Grand Quattro and Google Nexus 5. Could anyone please tell me if any of these device is supported in Gear 2?

    Hi coderfromktl,

Thanks for your question and your interest in the Samsung Gear App Challenge. Could you please post your question on Samsung's Developer Forum (http://developer.samsung.com/forum). It is monitored closely.

I'd also recommend that you take a look at the requirements for the Samsung Mobile SDK Accessory Package specifications (http://developer.samsung.com/samsung-mobile-sdk#accessory) for device requirements.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

Based on the samsung gear website, 17 devices are currently supported. It appears your device is not on the list.
    http://www.samsung.com/global/microsite/gear/gear2_features.html

    Samsung Galaxy S5 / Galaxy Grand 2 / Galaxy Note 3 / Galaxy Note 3 Neo / Galaxy Note 2 / Galaxy S4 / Galaxy S3 / Galaxy S4 Zoom / Galaxy S4 Active / Galaxy S4 mini / Galaxy Mega 6.3 / Galaxy Mega 5.8 / Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) / Galaxy NotePRO (12.2) / Galaxy TabPRO (12.2/10.1/8.4)

    Hi Serena,

I have another question about mobile devices.

The rule of this challenge says, "If the Host-side application links to a Samsung Galaxy, then the Application must support at least one device among Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4."

In this rule, does Galaxy S4 include Galaxy S4 mini, zoom and active?

    Hi ChoYunhee,

Thanks for your question. The Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S4 Active are in the same device group in Samsung Apps, so the Galaxy S4 Active would be included in that rule.

The Galaxy S4 mini and zoom are not included in this rule.

    Best,
    Serena
